Job Description
This is a single class position under direction of the Senior Pumping Station Operator and the Water & Sewer Superintendent. This position will operate and maintain the Village’s Pumping Station, regulate the flow of water to various zones in the water system; ensure that adequate safe water supplies are available throughout the Village and operate and maintain various pump equipment and production facilities in support of the Village’s water system.
Possession of a valid CDL ‘B’ driver’s license and valid ‘C’ Water Supply Operator Certificate from the IEPA is a condition of employment and both must be obtained within the six (6) months probationary period. Work in shop environment; lifting, climbing and stooping; exposures to dust, grease, and noise. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions; contact with water, chemicals such as chlorine or other liquids.
