Chapter Stipend Program
Bi-Annual Stipend Program for Continuing Education and Training
Was your training budget reduced? Want to attend a conference, seminar, certificate course, or take an eLearning class? The Chicago Metro Chapter wants ANY member or employee of a member agency to apply for a stipend that could fund their class, seminar, certificate, training program, etc. and will help with professional growth and development in our public works field.
This new focus for our Chapter program (now offered 2x per year) aims to support APWA members and employees at all levels through reimbursements for endeavors in training, credentialing and continuing education in a variety of non-degree programs.

PWX 2024 Stipend Program
The APWA Chicago Metro Chapter wants to send you to PWX in Atlanta, Georgia on September 8thβ11th, to experience your career in a whole new way! Apply NOW and you may be selected to receive a Stipend Award to use for registration, travel, and lodging up to $2,000.
Application materials are DUE by MAY 31st, 2024 to the Chapter Committee contact listed on the application and are being accepted via e-mail ONLY.

Branch Scholarship Programs
City
APWA has established a Mission to promote professional excellence; understanding of and competency and credibility in public works. To fulfill our Mission, the City Branch of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association is sponsoring the Dr. Emil Nigro, P.E., Memorial Scholarship for:
Candidates pursuing a degree in a Public Works related field of study
Employees of Public Works agencies that are pursuing continuing education (non-degree programs)

The City Branch of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association is also sponsoring the Chicago Engineers Foundation Incentive Awards 2023 Scholarship for:

Fox Valley
In line with our exempt purpose, the APWA has established a Mission to promote professional excellence; understanding of and competency and credibility in public works. This Mission is further served by delivering technical workshops, seminars, educational conferences, trade shows and credentialing combined with the offering of educational scholarships to further support students working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in a public works-related field.
To fulfill our Mission, the Chicago Metro Chapter β Fox Valley Branch (Branch) of the American Public Works Association is sponsoring a scholarship program for Candidates Pursuing a Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Works Related Field.

To fulfill our Mission, the Southwest Branch of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association is sponsoring scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Works Management.

Suburban
The Suburban Branch of APWA Chicago Metro Chapter is once again offering Professional Development and Full-Time Student scholarships. Professional Development scholarships will be awarded to individuals who work in the public works field and are employed by APWA Suburban Branch member organizations. Professional Development scholarships help individuals who are improving their public works knowledge, by providing financial assistance which may or may not be covered by their employer. Full-Time Student scholarships will go to individuals who plan to study a public works-related field and either live within the Suburban Branch geographic boundaries or are employed by an APWA Suburban Branch member organization.
