The new Illinois MS4 Permit issued by Illinois EPA became effective August 1, 2025. Permittees must update their Stormwater Management Program documentation with the new requirements and begin implementing them within 12 months. The presentation will provide an overview of the MS4 permit changes and lead discussion on the goals, intent, and interpretation of the new requirements. Topics include public education and outreach, public involvement and participation, illicit discharge detection and elimination, construction site storm water runoff control, post-construction stormwater management, pollution prevention for municipal operations, and additional tracking for the new annual reporting requirements of the MS4 permit.
