All equipment is to be provided, and no special skills required as this is intended as both a starter and/or a refresher course.  Participants will spend approximately half of their time in the classroom, and the remaining half outside for hands-on experience.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  1. Understand basic surveying terminology and concepts.
  2. Recognize common survey equipment and its uses.
  3. Learn the fundamentals of elevations, benchmarks, and coordinates.
  4. Set up and operate basic surveying equipment.
  5. Collect simple field measurements and points.
  6. Understand how survey data supports public works projects.
