Job Title: Director of Transportation

Salary: $185,000 – $200,000
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as the Director of Transportation with the DuPage County Division of Transportation.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provides leadership and direction for a staff of professional and subprofessional employees engaged in planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, permitting and finance
- Provide administrative oversight and direction to include: strategic planning, policy development, resource allocation, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
- Directs the development of the annual budget and makes funding and resource recommendations
- Delegates authority to subordinate managers in specialized area and assures that work is completed thoroughly and efficiently
- Serves as County representative on transportation related matters and policies to local, regional, State, and Federal agencies and partners
- Directs studies, analyses, and evaluations for the appropriate County Board parent committee
- Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
Requirements Include:
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
- Ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in transportation
- Five (5) years of experience in a managerial or administrative capacity with staffing and budgeting responsibilities
- The preferred candidate will possess a valid Illinois Professional Engineer license.
